The artworks have their starting point in the Finnish school system and the ideas that basic education gives about gender and sexuality. The installations are reconstructions of typical classroom items, all of which have been portrayed from the point of view of challenging conventional ideas of gender and sexuality. This has been done by means of disguise, superficiality, repetition and parody.

Freak-installations were first displayed in the solo exhibition Friikki (2008) in Huuto Gallery (Viiskulma), Helsinki, Finland. They were also displayed in Gallery Mältinranta, Tampere, Finland (2008) and in Lönnström Art Museum, Rauma, Finland (2009/2010). Sculptural installation Freak (Globe) was also displayed in Raja Gallery, Tallinn, Estonia (2008) and in Forum Box, Helsinki, Finland (2012). Installation Freak (Official Photographs of the Presidents of Finland) was also displayed in Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art, Vaasa, Finland (2009).

Installation Freak (Official Photographs of the Presidents of Finland) is included in the Swanljung Collection in Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art, Vaasa, Finland.
